BUSES |

Major Bus Routes
 |
| There is an extensive
bus network operating to and from Narita Airport. Above is just the
major routes. The above routes operate every 20-30 minutes. The main
advantage to the bus route is that they check your luggage for you so
you do not have to haul it yourself. The only problem with the buses
is that they are subject to traffic conditions and traffic jams are
quite common in Tokyo during rush hour. |

Which to choose? |
Choosing the right
option can be difficult. The trains are great during peak hours as the
rods become very congested. However transferring from an Airport train
to a commuter train can be a nightmare with luggage. The bus service
is great, and they check your luggage for you so no hauling it on and
off trains.
Here's our advice:CHEAPEST
OPTION:
Take the Keisei Limited Express for 1,000yen into Nippori and transfer
to the JR Yamanote Line. You can get most places in Tokyo easily from
here.
STRESS FREE OPTION:
Take a bus. Sit back and relax after your long flight. Choose the
destination nearest to your hotel and then catch a taxi.
JR RAIL PASS OPTION:
If you have a rail pass and have an extra day or two, then validate it
at the airport and use the Narita Express. This is also the option for
those not staying in Tokyo. If you are heading west to Nagoya, Hakone
etc, then transfer at Shinagawa. The transfer at Tokyo station is a
long walk as the Narita Express arrives at the underground platform,
while the Shinkansen bullet trains leave from the main area above
ground. |
