The Hotel Heights Shiga Kogen is a 4 season resort hotel in the Shiga Kogen
Area. The largest ski area in Japan, Shiga Kogen attracts winter sports
enthusiasts from around the world, but there is much more to the area than
just fantastic skiing. Each season brings a new feel and it is a great place to
get away from it all and just relax. The nearest ski lifts are less than a
minute away at Kumanoyu, which is skiers only, but snowboarders can cross the
road and jump on the lifts at Yokoteyama. Those with a ski pass can also ride
the shuttle down to Hasuike and the other slopes at shiga Kogen for free.
People holidaying in this area generally enjoy nature, and there is not
better way to relax after a day of activity than a soak in a natural hot spring
bath. The Hotel Heights has both indoor and open air baths for guests to sample.
There is also a private use spa where you lock the door after entering and it is
yours alone (1,500yen / 45 minutes).
Other attractions close by are the Snow Monkeys at Jigokudani, and the scenic
route across the top of Shiga Kogen to Kusatsu Onsen.
The hotel has both Japanese and western Style rooms. The western style rooms
have full en suite bathrooms, while the Japanese style rooms have and en suite
toilet (guests use the hot springs to bathe in).
Meals can be arranged on site, and cost from 500yen per person for simple
fare, up to 3,000yen per person for full courses.
